Another successful event!

Big thanks to student athletes Julia Bressie (25′), Danica Hernandez (25′), Sam Lust (25′), Ryan Lee (27′), Henry Preloger (27′), Cael Parker (27′), Moose Winningham (28′), and Maasai Viala (28′) for coaching the local youth!
Today, Way to Play hosted a highly successful baseball and softball skills clinic that brought together nearly thirty young athletes for an afternoon of energy, learning, and growth. Led by our dedicated coaching team, the clinic focused on developing core fundamentals while creating a positive and supportive environment for every participant.
Skill Development & Coaching Highlights
Our coaches delivered hands-on instruction across several essential areas of the game:
Batting Mechanics:
Players practiced proper stance, balance, and swing path, with coaches offering personalized adjustments to help each athlete generate more consistent contact.
Throwing Technique:
Kids learned how to throw harder and more accurately by improving their footwork, arm motion, and follow-through. Emphasis was placed on safe mechanics and building confidence with each rep.
Fielding Ground Balls:
Coaches introduced drills to help players stay low, center the ball, and reduce the chance of errors. Participants worked on transferring the ball quickly and moving with purpose.
Offensive Awareness:
In addition to batting mechanics, athletes learned how to approach each at-bat with intention—reading the pitch, timing the swing, and adjusting based on coaching feedback.
Atmosphere & Impact
The clinic was filled with enthusiasm as players rotated through stations, encouraged by both coaches and peers. Our staff took time to work with athletes individually, ensuring that every participant—regardless of experience—walked away with new skills and greater confidence.
Many parents expressed appreciation for the organized structure, the professionalism of our coaches, and the effort put into making the day both educational and fun.

This event concludes the academic school year for us Thacher students! We hope to host more of these events next school year. See you all in September!
